Chief executive of the local government-orientated think tank Localis, Jonathan Werran is one of a handful of think tank leaders with a specific focus on local policy. Since becoming CEO in 2018, Werran has worked to clarify how planning and infrastructure reforms can result in better policy outcomes. He wrote recently for the Local Government Association on the subject, arguing housing can be “the great leveller”. Before taking up his current post Werran was head of news and events at Localis, a position he still holds alongside the CEO position. Werran had a long career in journalism and communications.
