Former Amazon CEO Brian McBride is the lead non-executive director at the Ministry of Defence. As CEO of Amazon, he led it through five years of a high-growth period. McBride has also served as chair of fashion retailer ASOS for eight years. He is currently chair at Trainline and a non-executive director at Standard Life Aberdeen and at Kinnevik AB, a long-established Swedish public company investing in digital businesses like Zalando, Tele2 and Babylon. McBride is senior advisor to Lazard’s Global Financial Advisory business and senior adviser with the Scottish Equity Partners. McBride began his career with Xerox and subsequently worked in senior roles at IBM, Dell Computers and as managing director of T-Mobile UK.
