Director of the New Policy Institute (NPI) since he co-founded it in 1996, Peter Kenway is a Westminster think tank veteran. A former economist, management consultant and professor at the University of Reading, Kenway says his main areas of interest are local government finance and taxation. The most recent report he co-authored, in February 2021, analysed the state of “economic justice” in the West Midlands. The NPI takes a particular focus on localised poverty, also reporting recently on an uptick in child poverty across the UK.
