Since 2017, Helen Goulden has been Chief Executive Officer of The Young Foundation, the Bethnal Green-based think tank and non-profit which supports communities and corporate clients with innovation and expertise. She was previously executive director at Nesta, responsible for leading their Innovation Lab supporting and scaling innovation in the arts, civil society, government and education sectors. Gouldens other roles have included work within the private sector developing digital strategies and solutions for global corporate clients. She spent five years consulting in the Cabinet Office, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and then DCLG developing national innovation programmes for local government and leading research and product development for interactive TV public services. Goulden regularly speaks in the UK and abroad on the subject of public and social innovation, and has a long standing interest in how technology can be used as a tool for social change and co-operation. She is a former board member of the Behavioural Insights Team (aka the Nudge Unit).
