CEO of the Centre for Cities since April 2017, Andrew Carter has over 20 years’ experience working on urban economic policy issues for public and private development agencies, consultants and research institutes. Carter has also spent time in the US as part of the Churchill Foundation’s Fellowship Programme, reviewing urban economic development policy and practice in American cities including New York, Washington DC, Boston and Chicago. Carter was previously deputy CEO and director of policy and research at the Centre, with overall responsibility for the think tank’s research and policy programme. Carter is also deputy director of partner think tank, the What Works Centre.
