Since 2014, Florian Schweizer has been CEO of The Arts Society, a leading arts education charity with a global network of 380 local societies; its full name is the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Society (NADFAS). The Society has over 90,000 members and promotes arts through events with expert lecturers sharing specialist knowledge about the arts. Before his appointment, Schweizer had built up 13 years of experience in the heritage and education sector; he was director of the Charles Dickens Museum in London and responsible for the major refurbishment project of 2012. That year, Schweizer founded and became general director of Dickens 2012, an international consortium of more than 150 organisations set up to celebrate the bicentenary of Charles Dickens around the globe. With a PhD in Victorian studies, he has lectured internationally speaking on a range of topics. Schweizer has also been a heritage consultant for heritage and corporate organisations across the globe.
