Richard Fuller

Born and raised in Bedford, Richard Fuller was president of the Oxford University Conservative Association (where he provided the first Conservative platform for the ANC during apartheid) and later became leader of the Young Conservatives. His business career began overseas. Fuller was a founding partner of the venture capital group at Investcorp (later returning as a senior adviser in 2011). In 2015, as a member of the APPG on migration, Fuller campaigned against the use of detention for immigration purposes, achieving restrictions on the detention of pregnant women. To this end, he co-authored “The Use of Immigration Detention in the UK”. Fuller was on the Regulatory Reform committee from 2012 to 2017. After losing his seat in 2017, Fuller became CEO and then executive chairman of Impero Software, based in Austin, Texas, in his parliamentary interregnum. In 2020, Fuller was re-appointed to the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee after an initial stint as member from 2016 to 2017 where he led an investigation into the sale and acquisition of BHS and proposed the first successful motion to recommend the removal of a knighthood .
