Signe Norberg’s work sits at the intersection of environmental policy, economic strategy and long-term governance — an area where the stakes are both structural and generational. ISEP operates within that space. The organisation focuses on environmental policy, sustainability and governance, working with stakeholders across industry and government to shape frameworks that balance economic development with environmental protection. In the post-Brexit context, that role has become increasingly significant, as the UK has had to redefine its regulatory architecture outside of EU structures.

For Norberg, one of the defining moments of her career came during that transition. She was part of a multi-year effort to advocate for a robust environmental governance regime following the UK’s departure from the EU. The objective was clear: to ensure that environmental protections were not weakened, but embedded within a new domestic framework. “Nature is a key part of our economy and our future prosperity,” she says — and safeguarding it is therefore not separate from economic policy, but integral to it.
