Dr Luke Evans

Dr Luke Evans, the Conservative MP for Bosworth, has spent over ten years working for the NHS, and has extensive knowledge of the Midlands. Having trained at the University of Birmingham, and spent his two years as a junior doctor in and around the Birmingham area, his GP training took place in Kidderminster, Worcester, and Redditch, and he has practised subsequently throughout the Midlands, including in Leicester, Loughborough, and Royal Leamington Spa. Coming from a family of GPs, his wide-ranging experience has made him a passionate advocate for the NHS and, after being elected MP in December 2019, Evans has served on the Health and Social Care Committee since March 2020. Evans recently presented to the Commons a bill on digitally-altered body images, calling for broadcasters, advertisers and publishers to label cases of digital alteration to tackle problems with mental health. He has supported Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal and represents his Leave-voting constituency with a history of Brexit campaigning. Evans enjoys singing and playing rugby, and has been involved in his local community through a spell as a Primary School governor and as a Rotarian.
