Chief executive of the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) since December 2019, Sara Pantuliano has spent the past 15 years of her career at the development think tank. A former programme officer and team leader for the UN in Sudan, Pantuliano became a lecturer in conflict at the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania before returning to the UK to become a research fellow at the ODI. Since 2009, Pantuliano has edited the Wiley journal Disasters. She has held no fewer than six positions at the ODI including managing director and executive director, before taking her current post eighteen months ago. Pantuliano is vice-chair of the board of Muslim Aid and a trustee at the New Humanitarian.
