Gavin Kelly

The Resolution Foundation

Chair

Gavin Kelly has been chair of the Resolution Foundation since he stood down as chief executive in 2015 and remains an influential and effective advocate of the UK’s lower-middle class. He also chairs the Living Wage Foundation and thus is instrumental in setting the level of the living wage. An avid blogger with frequent, digestible posts about politics and economics, Kelly recently wrote about the prospects of a “fair recovery” following the coronavirus pandemic. He concluded wage growth is unlikely to be substantial for the time being and employer power is likely to rise. He advised a further stimulus of around £100bn to stimulate a jobs recovery.
