John O’Reilly was appointed CEO of FTSE 250 Rank Group in 2018. Rank is the UK’s biggest land-based casino and bingo organisation; its brands include Mecca Bingo and Governor Casinos, the UK’s largest casino operator. It is also responsible for several prominent online gambling domains. O’Reilly has spent nearly three decades in the industry, having served as non-executive director at William Hill, director of digital operations and executive director at Ladbrokes, and executive director and managing director of Coral Interactive. After The Rank Group were drastically affected by the pandemic, O’Reilly has been lobbying the government to allow the company’s 100 plus firms to reopen and made a pivot to grow Rank’s digital revenues, around which he’s both optimistic and well-qualified for – having led the construction of Coral’s successful online business.
