Lee Fenton was appointed CEO of Gamesys in 2015, having served as COO since 2008. Gamesys is an online software development and gaming business whose numerous subsidiaries (which includes Virgin Games and Jackpotjoy) are platforms for online bingo and casino gaming. Since its formation in 2001 by a small team of software developers, Gamesys has grown a global consumer base and gained a place on the FTSE 250 Index. In 2020, the group announced a record financial performance for the year, citing a 19% increase in revenue. Fenton pointed to Gamesys “ongoing focus on operational execution, product innovation and responsible gambling”. Another reason for Gamesys’s success is a diversified brand portfolio, and indeed, Fenton has broad experience working with global brands and managing operations across multiple markets. He was previously COO of the mobile division at 20th Century Fox and global director of consumer products & content at Vodafone Group. In April 2021, Gamesys announced a takeover of prominent US gaming and entertainment enterprise, Bally’s Corporation.
