Norman Hudson was appointed chair of the Historic Housing Foundation (HHF) in 2010. The HHF is a charitable trust that gives grants towards the repair and conservation of houses of historic or architectural significance. It was set up in 2005 as the Country Houses Foundation, changing its name in 2019 following the merger with the Heritage Conservation Trust. Hudson has been involved in the management and promotion of historic houses for more than 40 years. Since 1977, Hudson has run his own consultancy firm, Norman Hudson & co, which manages and promotes heritage properties. In 1989, he founded the Hudson’s Historic Houses and Gardens guides.
