Adam Lent has overall responsibility for the strategic direction, impact and efficient operation of New Local (which rebranded from New Local Government Network to New Local in late 2020). He joined in November 2016, leading its mission to “transform public services”. Lents areas of expertise include organisational strategies, new forms of leadership, democratic engagement and public service reform. His previous roles include Director of the RSA Action and Research Centre, Head of Economics and Social Affairs at the Trades Union Congress and Director of Research and Innovation at Ashoka the premiere global network of social entrepreneurs. Lent holds a PhD from Sheffield University where he was also a lecturer and ESRC Research Fellow.
