Name: Andrew Griffith, Conservative Party Constituency: Arundel and South Downs Andrew Griffith, the shadow business and trade secretary since November 2024, has been the MP for Arundel and South Downs since 2019. He won 57.9 per cent of the vote in 2019, but his vote share dropped to 40.2 per cent in 2024. Griffith was born in Bexleyheath on 23 February 1971, the son of an IT salesman and a housewife. He has two younger brothers. After attending St Mary and St Joseph’s Comprehensive in Sidcup, he became the first person in his family to go to university, reading Law at Nottingham. He enjoyed travelling as a student, revealing to The Mace in a guest diary column that summer vacations were for “exploring new democracies” that prior to 1989 had been on “the forbidden side of the Iron Curtain”.
