Nikki Da Costa

10 Downing Street

Director of legislative affairs

As the prime minister’s barometer for where Middle England stands on any given issue, Nikki da Costa is all too aware of both the difficult task of building bridges with the parliamentary party but also how to do it. Her encyclopaedic knowledge of parliamentary procedure is second to none and will be crucial to delivering the 2019 manifesto across this parliament. She is also one of the few Johnson aides who worked under the May administration – although she quit in frustration at MPs blocking a Brexit deal – and was touted as chief of staff when Dominic Cummings left.
