Mark Logan grew up in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. He studied at Queen’s University Belfast, later earning two master’s degrees, one from the London School of Economics and another from Wadham College, University of Oxford. Before becoming an MP, he joined the Foreign Office, working as chief at the British Consulate-General Shanghai where he was responsible for media and communications. Logan also worked for Chinese conglomerate, Sanpower Group, taking up a role in management consultancy, specialising in design and marketing. He ran for the Conservatives in East Antrim in 2017, but was unsuccessful. In 2019, he became the Conservative MP for Bolton North East, winning the seat from Labour by 378. Logan is a member of APPGs for international students, China, the British Museum, Ireland and the Irish in Britain, future generations and the media.
