Snapshot

Flick Drummond was MP for Portsmouth South from 2015 to 2017 when she lost her seat. Moving to neighbouring Meon Valley, Drummond represents a place she has considered home since her parents moved there 33 years ago. With an international outlook from a young age, Drummond studied South East Asian studies at Hull and later obtained a master’s in global politics and IR at Southampton. Drummond has worked as an insurance broker and an Ofsted lay school inspector, and served in the TA (Intelligence Corps). She served as a Winchester City Councillor from 1996 to 2000 before moving to America for a five year period where she campaigned for Senator John McCain. She voted to remain in 2016, and was an early supporter of Theresa May’s leadership bid and then Boris Johnson’s withdrawal deal. When asked which legislative issue she is especially keen to raise in Parliament, she said that she wants “to stop modifications of vehicle exhausts, particularly motorbikes, which make them noisy and are a blight on local residents.” From 2015 to 2017, Drummond was on the Women and Equalities Committee. Since 2020, she has been on the European Statutory Instruments committee.
