Simon Steeden is a partner at Bates Wells, a specialist law firm advising political parties, candidates, donors, charities and campaigners. His work covers election and referendum law, campaigning law, campaign finance, transparency of lobbying, data privacy, charity law, strategic litigation, advertising and reputation management. Notable clients include the Eden Project and HCT Group. He advised the remain campaign over the 2016 EU referendum, covering electoral and referendum law compliance and campaign finance.
