Now a partner at Bevan Brittan, Judith Barnes spent more than 15 years working in-house in a number of roles, including as assistant head of legal and principal economic development solicitor for Kirklees Council, head of legal services for Lewisham Council and borough secretary and solicitor for Greenwich Council. At Bevan Brittan, Barnes draws on her specialism in public and administrative law to advise on public sector governance, particularly for local authorities. She focuses on structuring, ethics, income generation and judicial review, as well as setting up and managing companies and charities. Barnes holds regular seminars and has contributed articles to SOLACE and the Municipal Journal.
