New US filings show Pakistan broadening lobbying, communications and investment advocacy in Washington through multiple firms and registered public affairs contracts.

New filings under the United States Foreign Agents Registration Act show Pakistan has expanded its public affairs and advocacy footprint in Washington, according to disclosures lodged with the Department of Justice. The registrations outline a series of contracts covering lobbying, strategic communications and economic promotion, reflecting a broader effort by Islamabad and affiliated bodies to place their priorities before Congress, the executive branch and policy influencers. The filings are publicly available through the Justice Department’s FARA database and have been reported on by several international outlets. One set of filings concerns the Islamabad Policy Research Institute, a Pakistan based think tank that has registered a relationship with the Washington firm Team Eagle Consulting.
