Beatriz Soares Carneiro joined Eupportunity in 2014 as a senior consultant and is now the head of public affairs. Soares Carneiro advocates for client interests regarding policy making and the legislative procedure. She also monitors relevant activities and decisions of European institutions, to anticipate political and legislative trends. She liaises with clients on a daily basis, and recommends actions or proposes strategies.
She started her professional career as an adviser to the Minister of State and National Defence (from 2002), a trainee lawyer in Uría Menendez (from 2004) and a lawyer at Vieira de Almeida e Associados, working in the area of Health and Pharmaceutical (from 2007). She moved to Brussels in 2009, having served as chief of staff to the MEP Diogo Feio (EPP).
Soares Carneiro has a law degree from Universidade Católica Portuguesa Law School (2004) and a Master’s degree in European competition law from the Dickson Poon School of Law at King’s College London (2011) with a Dissertation on “The Problem Of Oligopoly: The Case of Credit Rating Agencies.” She is also co-author of a book on Credit Rating Agencies, and has published articles in various newspapers.
