Former Burnham aide joins PLMR

Public affairs firm PLMR has hired a veteran Labour adviser who worked with Prime Minister Andy Burnham during the last Labour government.

Jennifer Gerber, a former special adviser to now-Prime Minister Andy Burnham, has joined PLMR as a senior political adviser. Gerber joins from WA Communications, where she spent the past two years as a senior political adviser. From 2007 to 2010, she served as a special adviser to Burnham across three cabinet portfolios, providing strategic advice at HM Treasury, the Department of Health, and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. She also led the parliamentary campaign group Labour Friends of Israel for more than a decade, advised NHS Trusts within the Shelford Group during COVID-19, and previously headed the centre-left think tank Progress. Her appointment is designed to strengthen PLMR’s public affairs offering, providing clients with senior strategic political and media counsel, alongside insight into the new Burnham government.
