Gareth Stevens succeeded Rachel de Souza as CEO of the Inspiration Trust in March 2021. Formerly the trust’s Secondary Director, Stevens is best known for transforming Hethersett Academy, where he was principal: within two years, it went from special measures to outstanding. In his prior post, Stevens oversaw eight member schools, but now leads the trust’s advocacy and supervision of all 14. Himself a Norfolk native, Stevens pointed to his local roots in equipping him with the necessary skills to lead the Norwich-based trust. Member schools include the Great Yarmouth Charter Academy, Wayland Academy and five primary schools across Norwich and Great Yarmouth.
