Jane Prescott has been Headmistress of Portsmouth High School since 2011. She is the 2020-21 President of the Girls School Association, the grouping of some 142 independent girls’ schools across the UK and a constituent body of the Independent Schools Association. Herself a fast adapter, Prescott has been offering prospective parents one-to-one Zoom meetings as an alternative to school open days. Holistic care is a key focus for Prescott, who, when asked whether she has any inspiring mentors, stated she has been “fortunate to have worked with some inspiring people and they all taught me that it is important to care”.
