Lord Nash is a former venture capitalist and businessman. He was the co-founder of Sovereign Capital and served as chair of the British Venture Capital Association. He later chaired Care UK, one of the most significant contractors to the NHS. In 2013, he joined the Lords and was appointed as parliamentary under-secretary of state for schools, serving until 2017. A prolific donor to the Conservatives, Nash’s appointment sparked some controversy. He currently serves on the board of the Centre for Policy Studies and is joint chairman of the governors of Pimlico Academy. He is a member, chair and co-founder of multi-academy trust Future Academies.
