Willie Rennie is leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats. He was previously MP for Dunfermline and West Fife but now represents North East Fife as an MSP at Holyrood. Since becoming party leader in 2011, he has sought in vain to break down the SNP majority across Scotland, aligning himself closely with his Liberal Democrat colleagues in Westminster. Although Rennie has welcomed recent financial support measures for businesses, he has been critical of Nicola Sturgeon’s handling of the pandemic, writing in The Scotsman of “worrying signs that Scotland could fall at the final hurdle” before the wide adoption of vaccinations.
