Lead non-executive director for the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) Kate Lampard is a former barrister with experience leading high-profile government reviews in the department. Lampard was appointed to lead major reviews by the government, such as the NHS’s 2012 investigations into Jimmy Savile and the 2020 Home Office report on borders and mmigration. She also led Serco’s investigation into the treatment of residents at Yarl’s Wood Immigration Removal Centre. Lampard has held a series of non-executive appointments in the health sector – including as chair of the South East Coast Strategic Health Authority and vice chair of the South of England Strategic Health Authority. She is also chair of the charity GambleAware. Lampard’s earlier career was spent as a barrister.
