Former Team GB athlete Claire Fox was appointed COO of Unicef UK in 2018 after a short stint as chief people’s officer for the charity. In her current role, she is responsible for the people, strategy and information teams and is a key point of contact on governance matters. Unicef UK fundraises for Unicef’s global emergency and development work and advocates for lasting change for children – including within the UK lobbying the government about politics and practices that are harmful to child rights in the UK. The charity works with hospitals, schools and childrens’ services. In March 2021, the UK Committee for Unicef’s UK Committee launched the VaccinAid campaign calling on the nation to ‘give the world a shot’ and help provide Covid-19 vaccines to people around the world. Fox has extensive experience in leadership and human resources having built up 13 years of experience at director-level roles. Prior to Unicef UK, Claire worked at Save the Children International and Unilever delivering in global, local and regional director roles. Fox describes her “mix of corporate expertise, international development experience, and track record as a team GB elite athlete” as a “unique and powerful” blend.
