Neil Leitch is head of the largest voluntary sector childcare operator in the UK, representing 14,000 nurseries, pre-schools, and childminders. The Early Years Alliance (EYA) also supports more than 800,000 families. Before joining the EYA, Leitch held several senior posts within the financial and commercial environment including chair of the Finance Industry Standards Association. He is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. Leitch has written for The Guardian on childcare funding shortages. He has also advocated for better communication between the government and his sector during the coronavirus pandemic.
