Alistair Jarvis has spent much of his career in communications, campaigning and public relations. Chief executive of Universities UK (UUK) since 2017, Jarvis now heads up the body which represents over 100 higher education institutions, focusing particularly on policy, political engagement, member relationships and organisational leadership. Jarvis took the top job at UUK after two previous rotations within the group, as director of external relations and then deputy chief executive. He has served on the government’s stakeholder working group on EU exit, universities and research. Jarvis is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
