Snapshot

Suzanne Webb, the Conservative member for Stourbridge since December 2019, has a business background as a senior manager for a global logistics firm, working in this area for 25 years. She is a veteran campaigner (perhaps most notably she successfully fought the council’s attempt to develop the green belt of Sutton Coldfield) and, after first standing as Conservative councillor for the Sutton Vesey ward in the 2016 Birmingham local elections, defeated a longstanding Labour incumbent to became a Birmingham City councillor for the Castle Vale ward in 2018. She was a last-minute choice for the Stourbridge constituency, chosen after Margot James announced she would not be contesting the 2019 election due to disagreements with the Stourbridge Conservative party. Webb voted Remain in the 2016 referendum, however has since described herself as a “committed Brexiter.” Her majority stands at 13,571. She currently sits on the Procedure Committee and the Consolidation and Bills Joint Committee. Her recent campaigns have included the regeneration of the Lye and Cradley areas, advocating for the protection of the Green Belt and for improvements of the roads in the Clockfields Estate.
