Jane Hunt

Jane Hunt worked in the telecommunications industry, and for the civil service in the Loughborough and Leicester area. She has lived in Loughborough since 1995. Hunt succeeded her former boss, Nicky Morgan, for whom she worked as a constituency case worker during Morgan’s nine years as an MP. With her home being Quorn in the constituency, and with her experience as a caseworker, Loughborough is clearly the most appropriate constituency for Hunt, although she thrice previously ventured to a neighbouring-but-one constituency (Leicester East in 2010 and Nottingham South in 2015 and 2017) to stand for parliament. She has been a borough councillor, and has involved herself in a range of local charities and organisations. Hunt is on the APPGs for basketball; broadband and digital communications; business in a pandemic (covid) world; district councils; housing and planning; internet; communications and technology; social mobility; sports; students and swimming. During the pandemic, Hunt was an avid campaigner for keeping outdoor sports clubs and leisure facilities open. The same year, Hunt supported the Loughborough Town Deal’s £32m government bid for funding.
