Marion Fellows

Marion Fellows studied Accountancy and Finance at Heriot Watt University and went on to teach Business Studies at West Lothian College, where she was an active trade unionist in the Education Institute of Scotland. Fellows first stood for elected office in 2007 when she ran unsuccessfully. In 2012, Fellows was elected as a North Lanarkshire councillor on Wishaw Council and was an active campaigner in the 2014 Scottish independence referendum. Despite the campaign’s overall failure, North Lanarkshire was one of four out of 32 areas which voted in favour of Scottish independence. Fellows was made an SNP whip in 2015 and joined the Education Committee from 2015 to 2019. In 2017, she became the SNP spokesperson on small business and joined the Administration Committee. In 2020, she was appointed as the SNP spokesperson on disabilities. The same year, she joined the Speaker’s Committee for the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority and the Administration Committee. Fellows has advocated for housing, public sector workers rights (in particular, postal workers) and further help for people with disabilities.
