The government is backing Jaguar Land Rover with a £1.5 billion loan guarantee via UK Export Finance to stabilise its supply chain following a cyberattack that halted production. The five‑year guarantee aims to unlock commercial borrowing and support suppliers under severe financial stress.

The UK government will underwrite a £1.5 billion loan guarantee to Jaguar Land Rover via UK Export Finance as part of its Export Development Guarantee scheme to bolster its supply chain after a cyberattack forced production halt. The guarantee is intended to enable JLR to access commercial borrowing and shore up liquidity for its suppliers. JLR has suspended production since 31 August, with the shutdown impacting many suppliers who face severe cash pressure. The loan guarantee will run over five years and is expected to cover much of the risk through the government scheme....
