Rayner will continue to lead the consultancy’s work across the entertainment, media and sport sector. Simon Whitehead, chief executive of Portland, said: “Tom is the ideal modern-day public affairs leader and I am thrilled that he is taking up the leadership of our public affairs and policy team.  “A senior C-suite adviser steeped in policy issues, he has worked both in front of and behind the political camera as well as operating across digital platforms. He is a natural communicator and a strong collaborator, and I am so excited to see what he will do in the next phase of our development at Portland.”
