JPMorgan Chase has created a new Centre for Geopolitics to help clients navigate international risks. Led by Derek Chollet and backed by global political figures, the unit provides strategic intelligence on conflicts, trade tensions, and defence trends, positioning the bank as a key player in geopolitically-informed financial services.

JPMorgan Chase has launched the Center for Geopolitics (CfG), a new advisory unit aimed at assisting clients in navigating the complexities of the current global political and economic landscape. The CfG is led by Derek Chollet, a seasoned foreign policy expert with extensive experience in the U.S. government, including roles as Counselor of the U.S. Department of State and Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Defense. Chollet's leadership is expected to bring a wealth of strategic insight to the firm's clients. The CfG is designed to function as a specialised "special forces" team within JPMorgan, providing strategic geopolitical insights to a diverse client base ranging from large corporations to high-net-worth individuals. The unit will leverage JPMorgan’s International Council, which includes prominent figures such as former U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan, former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair, to offer comprehensive analyses and guidance. In its initial offerings, the CfG has published a series of reports addressing critical global issues. These include analyses on the potential outcomes of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the evolving geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East, and challenges facing the U.S. defense industrial base amid a period of global rearmament. The reports aim to provide clients with actionable intelligence to inform their strategic decisions. The establishment of the CfG comes at a time when JPMorgan's leadership, including CEO Jamie Dimon, has expressed concerns about the current geopolitical climate. Dimon has highlighted issues such as ongoing conflicts, trade tensions, and political instability as significant factors that could impact financial markets and client interests. The CfG is part of JPMorgan's broader strategy to offer clients tools and insights to manage these risks effectively. The CfG will also engage clients through various channels, including in-person sessions and webinars, to discuss emerging geopolitical trends and their potential implications for global markets. By providing timely analyses and facilitating discussions with experts, the CfG aims to enhance clients' understanding of the geopolitical factors influencing their industries and investments....
