Polanski's new communications advisor shows that the Green Party leader is serious about his public image.
Georgia Elander has joined Zack Polanski’s team as his “Special Communications Advisor.”
Elander, who has worked in and around the Green Party ecosystem since her time at the University of Sheffield, is the newest edition to Polanski’s team.
Since reaching unprecedented highs in the polls last year, the Green Party’s position has since plateaued. The upcoming Gorton and Denton by-election will be a sure test to prove whether they are a serious contender for government.
Before joining Polanski’s side, Elander had worked with the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament whilst at University, and as a press volunteer for the Greens. Following a longer sting at the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, she went on to work as a media officer for the Centre for Ageing Better, a charity with the intent of “pioneering ways to make ageing better a reality for everyone.”
She then went on to serve as a media officer for officer for Liberty, before joining Carla Denyer’s communications team.
Polanski’s appointment of Elander signals a move towards a serious outlook on his electoral chances. True, the Greens have a relatively slick media image when compared to other parties, and so this new addition suggests that they want to continue riding this momentum.
