Virgin Atlantic opens a competitive pitch for its consumer PR account as the airline reassesses brand strategy and agency partnerships.

Virgin Atlantic has put its consumer PR account out to pitch, moving to line up a new agency partner after four years with Tin Man Communications. The move lands as UK airlines keep tightening their story about service delivery, route growth and premium positioning, while also dealing with a permanently jumpy operating backdrop of disruption, cost pressure and competition on core transatlantic corridors. For the agency market, it is another sign that big household brands are treating consumer reputation as a live performance channel rather than a set and forget press office function, with procurement style scrutiny now reaching briefs once handled through long relationships. Tin Man was appointed by Virgin Atlantic in early 2022 on a retained basis to work alongside the airline’s in house team on strategic and creative campaign development.
