Peter Mandelson was sacked as UK Ambassador to the US after new emails revealed deeper ties to Jeffrey Epstein, including support for legal challenges to his conviction and a private birthday note calling Epstein “best pal.” Global Counsel is selling Mandelson’s 21 per cent stake. The move intensifies scrutiny of government vetting.

Peter Mandelson has been removed from his post as United Kingdom Ambassador to the United States by Prime Minister Keir Starmer after previously unpublished emails and documents revealed a stronger, deeper association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein than had been known at the time of his appointment. Authorities say that correspondence from 2008 showed Mandelson advising Epstein to challenge aspects of his conviction and expressing support in ways that went beyond what was previously understood. The Foreign Office has stated that the new material shows the depth and extent of Mandelson’s relationship with Epstein to be materially different. The revelations included personal messages in which Mandelson referred to Epstein using very familiar language, describing him as “my best pal” in a birthday message.
