Ross Mumford works at the intersection of policy, investment and global infrastructure, helping to shape how governments and markets engage with key economic transitions. An admirer of visionaries like the great Arsenal manager Herbert Chapman, the “Napoleon of football”, he draws inspiration from leaders whose innovations transformed their professions.

As Head of Government Affairs for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Macquarie Group, Mumford has his own vision, leading the firm’s engagement with policymakers, regulators and stakeholders across a vast geographic region and a wide range of sectors.

Since joining Macquarie in 2018, Mumford has built a role that reflects the breadth of the organisation’s activities across infrastructure, energy and financial markets. His team supports the firm’s asset management, investment banking and commodities businesses, navigating the policy and regulatory environments that underpin major investments.

“I worked with Macquarie earlier in my career and admired its culture and ambition,” he says. “When the opportunity arose to work in-house at a company whose culture I admired at the nexus of infrastructure, energy and financial services, I jumped at it and have not looked back.”
