Nigel Huddleston is a former Head of Travel at Google. He was originally a management consultant at firms such as Deloitte and has lived in Britain and the USA. After an unsuccessful shot in the 2010 election in Luton South, Huddleston was elected to his constituency in 2015. Between 2015 and 2017, he sat on the Culture, Media and Sport Committee and following the 2017 election, he was appointed as the PPS to ministers in the DCMS. In early 2018 he was appointed PPS to Matt Hancock, the then culture minister. In February 2019, he became vice-chairman of the Conservative party, with responsibility for engaging with young people. He is a board member of the Tory Reform Group, which seeks to promote the “one nation” vision within the Conservative Party. Huddleston was appointed an assistant government whip following Boris Johnson’s cabinet reshuffle in July 2019. Huddleston voted Remain in the 2016 referendum but has since backed both Theresa May’s and Boris Johnson’s withdrawal agreements. He has previously sat on APPGs on digital skills, end of life, events industry, the fourth industrial revolution and the visitor economy. In February 2020, Huddleston was appointed minister for sport, tourism and heritage.
