Born in North Yorkshire in 1981, Siobhan Baillie left school at 17 to become a legal secretary. She qualified as a solicitor without going to university, studying in the evenings and weekends, and specialized in family law. After 17 years in this role, she moved to the charitable sector being appointed head of policy and communications at OnePlusOne. Baillie then became a councillor in the London Borough of Camden from 2014 to 2018. During this time, she chaired a review of a mental health service provision for young people. Baillie has spoken out about the need for legal rights for cohabiting couples and has pushed for support for families, children’s mental health and wellbeing, and teaching relationships in schools. In February 2020, she was appointed PPS to the Ministry of Justice. Since March 2020, Baillie has been a member of the work and pensions committee. In November 2020, she presented a petition to parliament demanding increased accessibility for disabled children in theme parks.
